Community
The Field Station encourages a meaningful exchange between visiting residency artists and the local community of Ingøy and Måsøy Kommune.
We support, inform and motivate artists to reflect on the vulnerability of the Arctic and high north communities, especially their history and their reality today. From small sharings of work with the island community to large scale public engagement projects and island specific artistic events, our belief is that you can’t make art in a vacuum.
Focusing on community participation contributes strongly to local cohesion and wellbeing, reduces social exclusion and isolation, and regenerates the local economy by creating opportunities and developing skills.
The Field Station provides full and part time local jobs in catering, cleaning, building, maintenance and administration.
